deciding on a college...
so, i'm too indecisive for my own good is pretty much how i can sum up most of my life...
i've decided that i want to be an art major, and i want to go into the photography business. i know its very hard to make money, but with the economy we have now, its hard to make money in anything.
i'm stuck on where to go though, but i've narrowed it down to two. either a college here in oklahoma that has a very good art program and music program, and my boyfriend will also be going there, not to mention its only about 50 miles from where i live now, so i could come back and forth whenever i wanted or needed to. my other option is the art institute in dallas, which i like a lot because they have a specific program that just focuses on photography instead of other arts as well, but i am also interested in other art so i don't know, and most of the courses are actually focused on the shooting part, instead of an overload of academic classes although there still are some. i don't know how i feel about going all the way to dallas to live by myself though..it would take a whole day to drive home, which i would be doing every weekend to see my boyfriend. i don't know if i want to make that sacrifice just yet. also, i've never lived anywhere else, and i feel like i'd get really lonely in dallas, not knowing anyone..i'm really shy.. my boyfriend and i already have plans to get an apartment together at the college here, and its just far enough and in just a big enough city without being too big or too out of my comfort zone right away.
the point is, i kind of need opinions from someone other than myself right now, because i feel like i'm letting emotional matters influence my decision too much. if you were in this situation, would you go to the art school even though its so far away from everything you know, or would you go to the in-state college to stay with your loved ones?
