Hey guys, if any of you didn't know I hate English (the subject) with a passion, and the fact the exams are stupid, and the books we have to study are hard. I really struggle. I am in the top set for English, but I get grades like I am in the second bottom set :/
Can anyone give me any tips on how I could improve?
I am getting good at video making, come and give me tips and show love on YouTube

Take thorough notes on what is happening in the story in the margins. Highlight, highlight, highlight. After you read the book. go to sparknotes.com and look up the book if its there for a brief synopsis.
"A toothache, or a violent passion, is not necessarily diminished by our knowledge of its causes, its character, its importance or insignificance".- T.S. Eliot
I love English! But it comes down to personal preference.
If you don't enjoy the subject, it becomes far more difficult to learn. Try and get help off someone you know who loves English (mum, dad, sibling, etc.) That might help
I can tell just from reading this thread that you do not write well. I mean, your writing should be clear and any reader should be able to understand what you are saying from the first time reading it.
"Hey guys, if you didn't know, I hate English (the subject) with a passion.< (take out and) The (fact the)<take out exams are stupid, and the books we have to study<change study to analyze are hard. i know this isn't formal writing, but damn, you should be able to write simple sentences. I think you should work on reading more basic books or articles here and there and analyze the way those authors or journalists write. Also, begin with basic sentences, and then when you proofread your paper, then build up and add big words or analogies, or whatever because I feel like you would just end up sounding wordy and awkward if you try to write "smart" write off the bat.
btw, i don't want you to get the wrong idea. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to help.
Now I vomit cum and diarrhea
On the tile floor, like oatmeal-pizza
Fill my toilet bowl, full of a cloudy puss
I feel the blood, becoming chowdered rust
