Guys are, technically, a genetic defect.
Now, don't go all "That's sexist!" on me, I'm just repeating what we did in college.
So, basically, what our lecturer was saying is that males are just a genetic defect.
Since women have two X chromosomes and men have an X and a Y chromosome, they are different, yes? Well, we are now, but...
She said that the Y chromosome in males is a defect.
It used to be an X chromosome which had something wrong with it and became a Y chromosome. At some point in life, everything was female.
Or at least that's the theory.
Yes. That's all we were told. Our college just loves to go into detail!
Wikipedia says...:
Quote:
The X and Y chromosomes are thought to have evolved from a pair of identical chromosomes, termed autosomes, when an ancestral mammal developed an allelic variation, a so-called 'sex locus' - simply possessing this allele caused the organism to be male. The chromosome with this allele became the Y chromosome, while the other member of the pair became the X chromosome.

It must had been around the time that animals became being distinguished as males and females that they became dependent on each other for mating. Because obviously a female and a female cannot produce an offspring together, the female alone would have to produce an offspring. Boy, that would fuck with modern society, wouldn't it?
So, basically, the world was gayer without males heh? Interesting.
Suddenly my eyes are open
Everything comes into focus, oh!
We are all illuminated,
Lights are shining on our faces
We are, we are blinded ! We are, we are blinded !
