Default Favorite Teacher?

I have all amazing teachers this year. My favorite by far will always be my honors justice and law teacher, because he's the mock trial advisor and I've known him for years.

But this year, I have a teacher I really like. His name is Mr. Smith, and he's quite odd. He's like the Gregory House of teachers. He teaches Honors English, and is very out there. On our first day, someone asked if we'd be learning about deeper meaning. His exact words: "Fuck deeper meaning. I'm going to teach you how to read what's on the page and why it's there"
He's an amazing teacher, and we're all learning not only how to read better, but life lessons about ourselves and society. He tends to go on a lot, so we're instructed to tell him if we don't understand "Mr. Smith, what the hell are you talking about?" He goes against everything other teachers do. The only downside is he does things other teachers don't, so you can't ask help from someone unless they're in the class.

So who is your favorite teacher and why?

My favourite teacher would be my old Chemistry teacher Mr. Mol.

He would always pick your side in complications, even if you were wrong. He always let you cheat on his tests because he already knew that we understood his lessons. He would always buy you lunch if you forgot yours and were strapped for cash.
And he never let me down, not even when i got kicked off school.
He is 63 years old, and i find someone that age with such generosity a valuable asset in my life.

I honestly don't think i would like your teacher or House as a teacher. House is fun to watch but idk if I would like him irl. I once had a coach who swore and stuff mainly just to sound cool or young but it just didnt sound sincere or real, instead it sounded like he was trying too hard to fit in with us.

I guess my favorite trachers are ones who are young (so I can still relate) but don't try to be one of the guys/girls ... they just teach good. Or older teachers that dont act senile or talk about the "good ole days". I guess the best teachers are the ones who are fair, funny, and who know their shit. I dont have one favortite teacher (I guess I have never had a GREAT one) but I would say about 1/3 of them are good.

my favorite teacher by far is my band director...haha, i've had him since i started in 6th grade all the way through high school. he's really cool, he's a good director, and we all have a different relationship with our band directors than we can with 'normal teachers'. my other favorite was my art teacher i had in 9th grade, she was so cool. we just hung out the whole time, and i still go hang out with her and another friend a lot. she's kind of like a second mom, that i can be a little more crazy around and not get in trouble, haha. :]

My gym teacher this year. The class I was in with him had about 17 people I think maybe less, so it was like a family. He was a basketball coach for over a decade, so he really knows how to work with teenagers. He treated all of us like a son or daughter. He was a grandpa age. Students would hug him because they were so close to him. It was easy to build a bond with him. That class was the reason I liked school this year. Too bad I won't have gym next semester. I could go on and on about how much we liked him and how perfect he was

My English teacher from last year Smith, I don't have him this year, but I still go and talk all the time, about music, philosophy, everything. It is more like we are friends then teacher/student relationship.

My music teacher is like a second mother or something. Me and my friends always go talk to her and talk about all the gossip and she's an awesome teacher for music, and helped me get an A* in Performing Arts last year. She is just a generally awesome teacher, and has mega good banter.

Mrs. McGarvey! She's this big ol' unassuming english teacher that I had last year. At first we were all scared of her, then, we warmed up to her, then we found out that she's also a security guard for a big music center near here and has met people like Brett Michaels and Elton John. She told us so many great stories during the second half of the year This guy in my class kept using the word "swag" so she embarrassed him by having him look up the word "swagger" and demonstrate it for the class lol. I loved her<3

My Biology teacher from 11th grade. He would let us go to his class room when e had study hall when we did not have to do a lab. He had a cabinet full of tennis balls and he would through them joking around. He broke a lot of shit. I f you were failing he would get some to sit behind of you and hit you(not hard) every time you got distracted, they would get credit. He wrestled with students just for fun or if there was a fight he would stop it. Apparently he use to be a wrestler. One he chased a student downstairs trowing tennis balls by the front office and security just laughed. He would do that if like you were playing with him if you weren't he wouldn't. He would curse a lot too.
