It's like this: new members often think it best to ask for advice from the same sex regarding personal sexual issues. Also because they might be shy.
As for me, I genuinely did not see the "Girls Only" prefix until I finished posting.
Personally, I don't see it to be an insult if the opposite sex answers it; my hypothesis being that a larger number of people from both sexes can provide a better feeling as opposed to a small section of the same sex.

Just for all those guys who are answering, I really appreciate you being mature about this. I've had it happen where I ask questions like this and reply like "oh thaz hot whuts yur number" when I really have a really honest question about something. That's pretty much the only reason why I put the "Girls Only" sign on it... to prevent getting barraged by perverts. Thankfully, that hasn't happened, and I'm really thankful for that. thank you.
