Default carling cup final

Absolutely gutted, £70 for a ticket, £24 for travel, another £7 for the mathc programme, our lads play our hearts out and we get screwed over by phil twatface dowd.

Can anyone tell me where his season ticket is at Old Trafford? How the fuck was Vidic not sent off? Last man...but of course, phil dowd bottles it because he was shitting himself that Fergurson might complain. He books 2 of our players for late tackles...but the man utd players seemed to be able to get away with murder. 3 times Rafael clattered Heskey with no hope of getting the ball, and that still only gets him a brief talking to. :mad1:

I know there's a few man utd fans on these boards, so I'll make clear that over the course of the game, in terms of chances created, you did probably deserve the win. It just leaves a real bitter taste in your mouth when you feel you've been robbed by the fucking ref bottling it. If they had gone down to 10 men, obviously there's no guarantee we'd have gone on to win the game, but it couldn't have hurt our chances if Dowd had actually enforced the laws of the game.

I'm sure in a few days time I'll be able to look back at the game and say I enjoyed the day out, because in fairness there was a great atmosphere, and Villa will claim the moral victory as we outsung the united fans for most of the game (although in fairness the novelty has probably gone for the man u fans.)

Anyone who says going to Wembley is a fantastic day out whether you win or lose is either lieing or hasn't seen their team lose at Wembley. It's not that good when you lose. Same goes to anyone who says theyd rather finish 4th than win the cup.

All that said, well done man u on the win (don't know how hard it is for me to say that lol) good goal from Rooney, hope you enjoyed the day

Oh, did I mention, Phil Dowd is a twat :mad1:

Ok, I'll admit that Vidic should have gone off, all referees make massive
mistakes at some time or another or in Phil Dowd's case a costly mistake
which MIGHT have changed the outcome of the game. However at the end
of the day United had more chances, Valencia was awesome (Who's Ronaldo?)
and Villa had chances but they didn't take them. I'm sure that Aston Villa
will win a trophy soon because Martin O'Neill is a good manager and he's
brought in a lot of good players to Aston Villa, think 5 or 6 years ago Villa where
a club in the bottom half of the table and then O'Neill and Randy Lerner came to
the club and brought in the likes of Brad Friedel, Stillian Petrov, John Carew and James
Milner and now they are a club playing reguraly in Europe and this season competing
for the Chamions league.

In all a deserved win for Manchester United with Aston Villa being pipped at the post.
I send sympathies to Villa supporters.

Ye, Valencia had a very good game, Warnock is normally a top quality defender, but yesterday he had a nightmare, and I put that down to a mixture of nerves and being up against Valencia who was on top form yesterday. Also, from a Villa point of view Owen getting injured was one of the worst things that could have happened...you could here the groans from around Villa's side of Wembley as we saw Rooney warming up.

Like I say, all in all United were the better side, they had more chances than us. However, that's not going to stop me fuming for the rest of the week about Phil Dowd lol need a scapegoat to vent my anger at. I can tell you, it was a LONG journey home from London

There's always the f.a cup I spose

Yep theres always the F.A Cup, Manchester United are out. Teams left in, I hate chelsea
and Manchester City, I know Reading won't win. So overall I want to see a Tottenham
and Aston Villa final. Classic !

Haha ye, To be honest I'm hoping for a villa v birmingham final, would never miss the chance to beat them lot from across the city, and to do it in the final would be brilliant.

Youy dad doesn't care? I take it he doesnt support Villa?

Just heard Graham Poll's opinion on the Vidic (non)sending off incident...I'm not gonna start on what he said because I'd never stop, all I'm gonna say is, of course Gabby lost control of the ball, he had that twat Vidic hanging off him.

Also I've just had my gf tell me "it's only a game" One of the worst things she could have said to me To be honest lol

To be fair it is only a game. You missed her birthday to go and watch a game of football. She's not pleased with you. Sounds like you've got ALOT of making up to do when I was talking to her on msn

lol thanks for the heads up, but yeah i already figured that she wans ttoo happy with me. I'll make it up to her

Seriously though, it is more than just a game. It's really annoying when people say that to me after we've just lost, because its not helpful. And on top of that, this wasn't just any game of football, it was the cup final.

I thought Man United deserved their victory. They completely outplayed Villa, especially in the second half. Villa never took their chances. But saying that, I was appauled that he didn't send off Vidic. Also, the tackle that Warnock got booked for, Rafael done the SAME tackle on a Villa player a few minutes after Warnock was booked and nothing happened. But even down to ten men, I could see United winning, their players had more determination.

Having said that, well done to Villa for making it that far. Martin O'Neil is a fantastic manager and they deserve as much success as they can.
