heyy, so im a really athletic person, i play almost all sports for my school teams, and whenever my volleyball season was ending and basketball season was starting i started to notice some pain in my left shin.. but i was one of the better players and had to keep up, so i ignored it and kept playing.. so the end of the basketball season this pain gott reallllly bad :\ and i tried just googling the problem and i find that i have shin splints, well.. badminton and soccer seasons are coming up and i have to play, so how long to shin splints exactly heal in? :o anyone have an idea? and plus i wanted to start this program air alert, its supposed to increase my vertical, so i need my legs for that too :\ so anyone with experience with these?
ok well im a runner, and i do a lot of weight training/stuff like that and whenever i get shin splints its because i needs new running shoes. So i would check if its maybe the shoes ur using, cuz it seems ur very busy into sports and the shoes take a beating, even a good pair of runners will last like 6-8 month if they are being used a lot, and then ur suppose to get a new pair. After i get new runners my shin splints go away very quickly. i would say within a 3-4 times of usin the new runners im fine.
I was told to use a rolling pin onmy shins, and places my foot against the wall and stretch better....I've had shin splints every track season for the past 3 years.. Could be because I go from a hard track to running on grass immediatly after.
Haha, what luck. Other than running, volleyball and basketball are probably the most shin intensive. Your knees can't take that kind of shock from landing on the ground. Your best bet is to immediately soften leg-heavy activities, let it heal, and if it happens again, cut out one of those.
It's either that or your shins will keep getting worse until you can't even walk.
