Well I've heard this too, although you could just not push your muscles and body to the limit until it's close to finishing the development. Such as if your 16 just take it easy, cardio and a little weights rather than doing body building stuffs, wait until you're 18 unless you really wanna then go for it. Who's to say otherwise if you wanna then best of luck!

Well, there's no official answer to your question. Some people say it does, others it doesn't. I personally don't think it's true, since they're a lot of young athletes that train and are monsters. Just avoid any non-FDA approved supplements, eat, and sleep your 8 hours.

I've heard that guys (and I guess girls) who lift weights frequently tend to stop growing faster, apparently it can cause your growth plates to close.

But that could just be a myth.

The fact that you're growth is stunted is debatable. I'm not sure anyone knows the answer to that really.

But the intense physical activity help to develop the body... the body building is a sport! What is the difference with other sports?

So just to be sure, you are talking about lifting weights? Not gymnastics right? Normal lifting weights is fine. Extreme lifting and gymnastics take TOO much of a toll and do stunt growth according to everything i have heard.

Yes it can, if you lift too heavy weights, especially doing exercises with heavy weights that involve your back. Dont put too much pressure on your spine. Also dont lift too heavy because your bones can grow retarded and youll be deformed(not the same deformed as if you would be doing the wrong "form" of the exercises and grow more muscle somewhere else then in other parts, but the type of "deformed" where the bones tend to bend and you cant do anything about it)
