I'm sure many of you are members of other forums or have been members of other forums. As a result, you have probably found things you disliked about forum staff.

What are some of the things you dislike about forum staff?

For example, I don't like it when an administrator treats members like they are not important.

The one that you just said lol, when admins and people think their more important than the members, because without the members there is no site really.

I dislike when Staff Members pick favorites and they choose them to be on Staff Ive been on Forum where they have an Application and they open it up when they need someone to be on staff but lately they have been hand picking people who they like without opening up the position to let other people who might want it. Also I hate how some Staff member seem like they own the place and they all love and know each other.

I dislike it when forum staff ban people without warning (unless they're trolls/spam bots).

I dislike it when forum staff restrict freedom of speech to cover their own arses.

What Kirk said is accurate. However, what I find discourteous is not being informed why something I posted was deleted. It is common courtesy, "Netiquette" for forum staff to write to a member and clarify what they have done wrong, or said wrong.

Sometimes, before logging in, I wonder if I may find myself banned because a staffer went autocratic - my impression since the new owners have taken over. This feeling of course, is completely irrational though I acknowledge I am sometimes blunt and speak my mind. Which is no bad thing considering I am mindful of the new forum rules.

Good communications between forum staff and members is crucial.

I don't get this whole "dislike the fact they hand-pick staff" thing. Surely they have to choose staff based on A) Who they feel will do the job well and B) Who they know will work well with the current team. How else would they decide who becomes staff...or am I just missing the point here?

It's not as if they've promoted people like Liam and Hollie to become staff.
