Default Going for a walk when upset/angry?

I was interested to see if anyone does this?

I sometimes go for a walk when I'm upset, angry, and/or just have too much on my mind. I go at night so few people see me... Sometimes I go if I'm bored.

The strange thing is, I don't usually think about whatever it is that's on my mind, I just walk and listen to music. Tonight I just mindlessly walked for about 45 minutes. People say going for a walk is a good thing in these situations, but I don't understand how it works.

So, yeah. Random thread.

I do. In fact, I just got back from one of those walks about an hour ago. I do it just to clear my head sometimes when things aren't going well. It really relaxes my nerves.

I don't usually. When I'm that upset or angry I just ignore the problem or in cases when it's really bad I seek out something that's more worth my time, typically something I can solve.

Walking like most exercise releases some hormone that give a good feeling afterwards. To get rid of stress, though it's anxiety which I get mostly, I go for a walk. Unless it's raining. Then I'll exercise in the house as we've got a rowing machine, and skipping ropes. I don't always feel like exercise, so reading I find helps. And a warming cup of tea is calming. I love tea.

I drive, and this is stressful like on motorways. I'll take frequent breaks which help.

I used to when I lived in the city.
Now I live in the middle of nowhere and it's not really safe to walk down barren country roads in the dark with no shoulders or lights other than the few and far between farms with security lights on the barns. This Spring I'm supposed to be helping my landlords out with their horses though so maybe I'll go riding when I'm upset or something.

No, I'd be too angry to do that. I have to go to bed and put my head under the quilt low on the pillows and just cuddle up warm to the quilt.

No, I don't. When I get mad I find it soothing to either listen to music, hit something (or someone), or yell at someone. Sometimes I just bottle up my angry and it goes away.
