Coaster, yes.  I'm too british for my own good!
How about building kites? You could start with a kit. I made one with my partner and we flew it on the day. It was so easy to make and such fun. We have an old book called The Penguin Book of Kites which we bought second hand from Amazon.
Or what about learning the piano? I'm up to grade 9 now. It's lovely that you can find free piano lessons online. Like with http://www.gopiano.com/
