Have you talked to your parents about gun ownership yet?
This is a message for the teenagers of this forum. If there isn't at least one firearm in your home, you and your family are at risk. I urge you to please talk to your parents and convince them to buy a gun, there is no permit necessary in the United States (some states do require a permit for concealed and/or open carry however). Anyone 18 or older who isn't insane and doesn't have a criminal record can own a firearm, it's a fundamental human right. Handguns are best when it comes to self-defense and the defense of others, though shotguns and rifles work too. Discuss the option with your parents to have your home armed and safe.
Be sure to convince them that when not using their firearms, to keep their firearms locked in a safe place, such as a gun safe. Together we can arm every home in America, and eventually every adult law abiding sane citizen will have freedom and protection from criminals and in case the government becomes tyrannical. America is one of the few free countries in the world, don't let America become like Communist China, North Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Libya, Iran, the United Kingdom, or other countries where they lack proper civil and human rights, such as the right to bear arms and sometimes even the right to free speech, vote, assemble, and other important rights.
Guns aren't just used for protection and overthrowing an out of control government, they're also extremely fun and rewarding tools if used properly and safely. You could target shoot with them, which is always fun, or you can even go hunting if you choose to do so. So talk to your parents about arming your home, it may just save your lives one day. And remember, armed community is a safe community.
Re: Have you talked to your parents about gun ownership yet?
Okay. I'm just going to say this because I think it's important to note.
1) It'd take a lot more than not being able to own a gun to turn us into China or North Korea, or Iran etc.
2) I don't think it's fair to classify the UK along with those countries. There's a huge huge difference between them. And people there do have the basic rights of humans. To be honest with you, there are plenty of free countries out there.
I'm not disagreeing with you. It's just I feel the facts you have been trying to represent have been unfairly skewed.

I disagree with the notion that guns are needed at all. Quite honestly, I think we'd be in better shape and see less crime if the guns were off the streets.
But what can ya do.
If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please feel free to send me a PM or a VM! I'll be back in a week.

Statistics show that crime in Britain has risen since the 1997 gun ban and that the number of illegal guns on the streets of Britain continues to increase despite it being illegal.
Liberal War on Guns = War on Drugs and Alcohol all over again
Re: Have you talked to your parents about gun ownership yet?
Guns exist, that's the simple fact of the matter.
If guns were outlawed then law-abiding citizens would follow the law. But who's committing crimes in the first place? People who don't follow the law.
I don't know if we have a gun or not, my parents keep confusing me on that.
Either way, if we don't have one and ever got one then it would go in my room. Apparently I'm very good at shooting.
It starts with gun banning but then it escalates. Because guns are something you can fight back with. I've said it before, government, in all it's forms is evil. It wants to control everything. It wants to invade lives. If you have guns, they can't do that because hey the people might revolt. So the first step is to get rid of guns then move on.
That being said I like guns. But we can't afford one right now and since we've gone through a break in before we already have an alarm set up. Generally the alarm might scare people away but if that doesn't work... well, daddy always said to never be afraid to bash someones head in with something or even kill someone if it was necessary. Granted a gun would be so much easier than stabbing or beating someone in the head with a bat.
But at least guns can't kill you right off.
Or rather, guns don't kill people, bullets kill people, and the guns are in the hand of someone who has to pull the trigger.
If someone wants to kill someone else, banning guns wont matter. They'll just find far more violent and creative ways to do it.
Someones gotta load the gun, turn off the safety, point and pull the trigger. Guns don't kill people, that's like blaming misspelled words on your pencil.

Re: Have you talked to your parents about gun ownership yet?
I plan on collecting and owning firearms when I'm old enough to. Guns have ALWAYS interested me. Even if they don't fire, I plan on collecting them as history. Of course i'll have firing working guns and I plan on owning a gun to protect my family. Blahblahblah violence isn't the answer. Blahblahblah guns are bad. If someone is gonna put their hands on my kids or on my wife, i'll shoot their ass.
Of course I'll have to keep my guns and ammo safe, which I will. Honestly, as long as you keep your guns locked up and safe, they will be safe until you need or want to take them out.

Violence isn't the answer, it's the question. And the answer is yes. =D
