We're considering either moving to a bigger house or building an extension onto the one we have now (my nan and grandad are moving in).

What do you feel are some of the things we should consider when making this choice? Because I really dk if I want to move. The area is full of ignorant white yobs but I've grown used to the house and everyone I know lives close by... But then it'd be easier to move out because for one it'd be cheaper and also we get the house already ready. >_<

I'd go with getting the extension if you have the money unless you can move to a place with less crime etc. Do you live in a really rough area? If so, I'd take the chance and move.

I've only moved house once and I was 3 so I have no idea what you should think about ;_;

I've moved 4 times. I've lived in Texas, Connecticut, and New York. Now, I'm living in Pennsylvania.

My best advice is to consider whether the area is safe, friendly, etc. What kind of problems does the house face? Does the appliances need upgrading or are they up to date? How spacious and convenient is it in the neighborhood? Can you park cars in? Do you have a nice backyard?

Also, I'd make sure the house is in good condition. You don't want to pay for a lot of expenses.

You're still living with Mum and Dad yeah? Check the tax band oif the area you are thinking of moving to - they could start paying more council tax. Transport - do buses run to wherever you need to be? Ermm - I will be back when I think of more.

Well it just comes down to if you want to let go of the house you had ever since you were a kid. If I were you, I'd try moving out. See how close of a house you can get to your friends. Also, if your parents are struggling financially (as almost everyone is to some extent due to the world economy), it probably is better to go with the cheaper option anyways. As others have said, look at crime rates too. It'd probably be nice to get out of a rough area.

It's not that rough it's just there's a lot of larry teenagers around.

And yeah we moved here 4 years ago and it was super-fun, To be honest.

We've had someone take a brick from our front wall (they wasn't semented down properly at the time) and throw it into a car window on our road, but that's all in four years. It's more just the teenagers saying rude comments all the time, but idk if that's something worth moving for. We have a fairly nice car area and the backyard is good but when my grandparents move in it might be a little tight :3
