Default Guy starting ballet
Hi


I am 16 years old and a guy. I am going to start ballet because it is something I have wanted to do since 12.

I think I am going to start at a place where they take people from 16 years old and up. The reason for this is the person who runs the class danced for 12 years with Scottish Ballet and is male. I am so excited. What should I expect? The class is for absolute beginners.

What should I do before hand. I am so over the moon. It took so much to ask my parents if I could take up ballet.

Hey there!

In the first class you should expect the learn the positions. 1st, 2nd and 3rd position. They're really easy and you just got to remember them. You'll probably learn and few positions with the hands as well and how to warm up your body and muscles before you start.

I'm just going by my experience when I went to my first class.

I hope you have fun and if it's something you love, then I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

That's interesting. But I think you should concentrate on your exams first, and I wish you good luck on the exams and the ballet classes.

^ Basically that.

On my first Ballet class I was like 5 so we just skipped around and pointed our toes every now and then, so it'll more than likely be different for you, haha.
