I think it would be cool to have a chat room installed for us to talk in, anyone else agree? Disagree?

I think it's a possibility. However, a ton of responsibility has to come with it.

Yes, but it's still quite hard to find the right mods who are fair to everyone, one may try but it's harder then you'd think. Bullying in chatrooms can be extremely difficult and easy to happen regardless how nice people normally may be. And there'd have to be set up where the chat mod is actually present at the time i think. but we'll see what the admins say

I don't think we need this implemented.. We have a IM system for a reason.

No, it's like an IM but with any member who clicks join.

Yeah I know, I don't think it's needed.

We already have a VM system, PM system, and an IM system - too many ways to socialize. But, it can be added. I'm not for it, or against it.

If we add it, I won't mind at all. But, chat moderators to monitor? I can see this. Why not have a report abuse button that when you click, it sends the logs to a report center and the chat moderators can monitor it and or regular moderators and administrators?

We've tried the shoutbox feature here on Teen Forumz before - and personally I wasn't much of a fan. And it ended up being removed anyways.

I can't remember at the moment, if we've ever tried a chatroom or not before. If we haven't, then I think it would be awesome to give it a go. (No harm in trying things out, eh?)

As far as the concern for staff - my assumption would be the current Teen Forumz moderators would assume moderation duties over the chat. However, I know on other (bigger) sites that use a chatroom they do have moderators specifically for the chat. At any rate, even if the Administrators here were to implement a chatroom - I'm guessing it'd be a test run to see how it goes. So I dunno that "chat mods" would be necessary.

You'd be surprised, you really do need specific mods for during the chat when it's on. It can get ugly, really bad, really fast. You see threads getting out of control and offensive on here now, when it's live it can be much worse. been there.

Yep. I agree with what you said.

But, as mentioned by staff - they want to stop trolls. How would we be doing that? We could have a post count requirement (30+ posts sounds reasonable).
