What are the requirements to become a Community Veteran?
3,000+ posts
1 Year (Administrators can set this to any time duration they'd like, recommended a year or more.
I am also suggesting that any other Teen Forumz contributors out there will have automatic access to this as well. Also, ex staff members who have contributed to the community (required an administrator's approval to join) are welcome as well.
This is to dedicate a rank for members who have been loyal members to this site and made a positive impact. However, administrators have the right to deny admission and or remove members from this rank for various reasons (infractions, immaturity, etc).
I agree with the majority of this. However, the only part where I disagree is over the thread closing feature. This seems like it would cause more issues then be beneficial.

Anyways, I love this idea.
Thanks for your support. But, it's the administrators decision on this and should be evaluated carefully.
Well, as David said, editing tools would cause a problem for the most part.
I seem to agree with everything though, it's a great suggestion, and I must say, the presentation is FABULOUS!
I'm Doniv, and I approve of this notion.
Awesome, great to hear a scientist is agreeing.
However, most community veterans will only be enrolled if they are trust worthy and want the best for the community. They should know better if they post something inappropriate. However, if it's edited - a moderator and administrator can click "Last edited by *username* at *time*". If the post is inappropriate when you see it, report it and it will usually give the post that was seen by you and the staff will see it / review it.

I agree with your suggested features for this "Teen Forumz Veterans" user group - however, I stand firmly against the notion that they have "thread closing" abilities. Even if it is to their own threads. Generally speaking, Moderators and Administrators get the threads closed within an acceptable time frame when it is requested. Giving this ability to the veterans group has potential to cause disruption where it is not needed. It is that point I am making to the community and to the Administrators so that they may consider it before making their decisions.
This is the only point where I disagree with this proposal. The rest of it - I support. (Although, instead of 24 - maybe 6 or 12 hours).
David- approves.

Actually, yes, you're right - the moderators/administrators can decide for that one of themselves. However, I was making the point that members can close threads on request. But, I also see the argument against it. Also, the editing can be decided by the administrators and moderators.
I like the idea, but there needs to be more incentives for the plus badge and I don't want to transfer the ones in the AP to the AP+. It wouldn't be fair. Any thoughts on incentives?
