Help?

So i've always had a good life, lots of love, care etc. And i really enjoy knowing my parents will always be there for me. My dad has just been promoted though to the head of a police service in Afghanistan though meaning i wont see him for ages :/ and i honestly dont know how im going to cope. Its a really big job and i don't wanna stop him going its just its really dangerous and i don't know what to do.
Im very aware this is not as serious as some threads but i'm really concerned and i cnat really speak to anyone else in case they think its selfish :/ xoxoxox

I think you should talk to your dad about how you feel. Not to talk him out of going, but because he'll probably be able to offer you more comfort than we could.

Like Ray, I think it's important to talk to your Dad about how you feel. He'll be able to reassure you and make you feel better about the situation. It's going to be just as hard for him as it will be for you but you'll get through it and it will feel even more special when he's back. I'm sure you'll be able to call him and stuff so you'll still get to talk to him and doing that will make you feel better too.

If you can, try to think positively about it. Rather than thinking "he's going to be away for a such a long time and it's a dangerous job," keep telling yourself that "he's got a really good job and doing an excellent service to a country that really needs it right now". Be proud of what your Dad has become and always keep to forward to the next time you'll get to see him.

Your Dad's really brave, and he's doing a noble thing, I think he realises this, and that's why he's going to help those in need of it..
You definitely should talk to him, and he'll take you seriously, don't worry.

I dont mean to like... diss anyone in anyway but yea sure afghanistan is a dangerous place but if he is going to be head of the police... hes going to have more security then my wallet when i walk through brixton (any londoners going to get that? ) so hell be fine
as for the missing him i know its not much but have you thought about webcams and skype?

Well head of the police isnt exactly a standard job though so he most likely could work round it.
