If you've been employed before, include details of your previous employment first and foremost: from your most recent job, describe the position you worked, what responsibilites you had, what you did well/any direct praise you received, and, if possible, get testimonies from your previous employers. Alternatively, testimonies from your school or college tutors work.
Most people begin their CV with their personal details such as their name, d.o.b, address ... but that's boring, they've seen it a million times over and the important part of a CV, the meat, isn't visible until they've trawled through the mundane. Include your personal details later on!
Also, if possible, always write a cover sheet. It's basically a short bit of writing on a separate piece of paper preceding the CV addressing your potential employer, thanking them for their time and consideration, and scribing why you think you'd be good for the position. It's personable and demonstrates that you've thought about the position before you've even been invited for an interview.
