Default Jobs?

I'm going back home next Tuesday and I'm filling out online applications now, then when I get there I'll be going to all the places that have you fill apps out in person.
But basically, I want to know what I can do to widen my search.

I pretty much apply at food places and stores. I have restaurant experience, but since I have cash register experiences from the restaurants, I figure stores would be ok as well.

But basically, I'm looking at the life I want to have with my boyfriend, and looking at some of the things we need (and soon) and I'm realizing - a minimum wage job is NOT enough.

So what are some good paying jobs that don't require anything more than a high school diploma?
(Personally I find it highly unfair that kids who are still in high school or people who graduated college but don't know the basic concept of English can get a job, but I can't and I graduated high school two years early.... but that's a rant for another time).
I think if something doesn't require a degree but does need some certification in the job, I might be willing to accept a minimum wage job until I can save up enough for the classes to get the proper licenses.. but I'd prefer not to, ultimately.
I just don't know what to do.

I did a Google search on high paying jobs that don't require college, but most of the results did require some college knowledge, or otherwise certification. (like private investigator, dental hygienist, child support investigator, etc).

The only things I can think of that would make a lot of money with fewer brain cells would be prostitution and stripping.
Prostitution is illegal, and I would need to invest money in stripping too in order to learn how to pole dance... so again, would be accepting a mini-wage job until I could get the money to learn it xD

Any suggestions for me?

This is basically my resume:
Restaurant work from early February 2010 to early/mid May 2010 - put in my two weeks to move to another state
Restaurant work from July 2010 to September 28th 2010 - was fired because the owners "wanted to make some changes"
I had two jobs in between those two, one of them late May to mid June, one of them early June to mid June... But one was only about 3 weeks long and the other was 2 weeks long so I don't put them on applications. (also I don't remember their addresses/phone number so it would be incomplete anyway)

But I need to find a job RIGHT AWAY and I would prefer not to have to stoop to low wage salary again because we're starting fresh and going to be needing a lot of money for a lot of things and I just don't want to be eating from food banks again.

So any help is appreciated.

Well, neither of my parents have a college degree and my Mom is a legal secretary and my Daddy worked as a Drug Store Manager and is now a Manager at a place who does pay-roll.

However, no matter what you get, you'll probably have to start out low and just work your way to the top.

You could try getting work at a Temp. Agency - I hear they do a variety of jobs, but a lot is Secretarial work (by the way, that actually pays well).
I suppose you can check here if you're interested.

At what age did your parents start their jobs?
Because I feel like I get discriminated on at jobs for being "young"...

And I guess I could try a temp agency but I just don't know where there is one back home. I think the closest one was like 20 miles away and I don't have gas money for that but I'll look into it :/

Also, I don't feel like I'm smart enough to handle the jobs that might be more high paying... possibly like secretary work.
I suppose it's a learned knowledge but still, I can't afford to be fired.

I think it was before I was born so i suppose my Mom got her's at about... 20-something. Because she got married at 19, and didn't have me until 29, so somewhere within those 10 years.
I don't know about my dad. I think he started out being an Assistant Manager.

Secretary work isn't that hard. A lot of it is typing, basic common sense, filing, organizing, knowing how to use a computer. Things like that. Sometimes some other stuff, but a lot of it is typing (but that's what I got from my Mom's job, since she's a Legal Secretary and that involves more work I think - by the way, that means she works for Lawyers).

I'm a great list person. But it helps concentrate the mind into prioritising the important things to centre on.

Make a list of your greatest strengths, starting from 10 down to 1.
Write next to the strengths, your best ability. You'll be surprised what you find.

You type accurately. Your grammar is excellent - better than mine. Accurate typing and speed if you have it could give you a PA's job, or secretarial at the least. As you are pregnant, a sedentary job is beneficial.

Try employment agencies.

Unfortunately love, with only highschool education, your options are very limited.

You could work a minimum wage job and then start your own venture on the side like I did for a year?
I was working as a private investigator occasionally as well as doing household services like cleaning homes, meal prep for the week, errand running, pet sitting, dog walking etc.

I was making almost 40/hr with the PI job but it was really unpredictable hours and I hated it, but I was making about 15/hr doing the household services but again, the amount of work depended on the advertising, the need for that kind of thing, competition, word of mouth etc.

I loved it though.

What kind of qualifications did you have to get for the PI job, or how did you get started with it?

I can't do cleaning that well (I mean if the house comes fully stocked with their cleaning supplies I probably could but I know I wouldn't enjoy it) and I would definitely make sure I had some income coming in before starting my own venture like that, because you have to put money into it in order to truly succeed.
I already have an idea for that kinda thing, but yeah need to be getting in money first.

And Floxy - I'm no longer pregnant definitely nooott looking for a sedentary job but I wouldn't mind one if I had it either

As for listing my strengths, I'm horrible at that sort of thing because I just don't think I have any. Same with skills.

I know that Woodman's pays really good, if you live by one. But they treat their workers like complete crap. If you were to start working there when you're 16, you'd retire a millionaire.

What's Woodman's?
I've never even heard of it.

It's an employee owned grocery store.
