Default Why is it...

Why is it that when we accomplish something in life...others get credit...people say it was how you parents taught you, or your teachers influenced you, or god helped you out...

But when we do something wrong...it's always our fault, they always say it was our own choice and nobody else decides for us, it wasn't our parents, teachers, god, or friends...it was us...

Anybody else get ticked off at this...

Personally I think it depends. Parents generally teach you to be good and not bad. They teach you to make good choices. So when you do something good, it has something to do with their parenting. But if you go against that and do something bad then you made the choice to go against that and therefore it was your fault.

Truth be told, it's all about choice but environment plays a strong factor in each case.
Good or bad, each involves choice and environment.

As for why, people just tend to wanna blame one person when things go wrong. Not that this is incorrect, I mean if a person does something bad then they made the choice to do so... but for whatever reason, it doesn't apply when they do something good.
Personally speaking, I've never really had to deal with that much. For me it was just that when I did something bad, I got yelled at a lot but when I did something good it was either I got ignored or I got a "you can do better".

In my opinion, The environment does have a strong influence on what you achieve and what you fail at. But I think the human ego may be at play in the scenario that you mentioned. When you do something good, people like to make themselves feel better by saying that they or someone else helped you do something worthwhile. However, when you do something wrong, they deflect all the blame towards you in order to make themselves not feel so bad about themselves. This probably isn't a very clear explanation but it's probably the best I could manage at this point.

People have this amazing ability to take credit when everything is going good and there are things to be proud of. Things that reflect well on them, they'll jump at the opportunity to take the credit for.

But, who wants the blame when things go bad? No one. People are generally quick to dissociate themselves from the situation quickly.

Its frustrating as hell, but its happens.
