Christmas is just around the corner and my birthday comes 3 weeks after it. Anyone else with the same dates? Anyways, have you guys ever asked your parents to combine your christmas and birthday gift for one expensive gift? What did you ask for and how did they react?

And another thing, with our generation, we usually just ask for money instead of gifts. How much does christmas and 16th birthday get me?

I'm planning on asking for a ps vita, a pair of beats mixr, and a 32" 3d tv for my bedroom. I already saved up $350. I'm not sure if i'm fantasizing but i'm expecting somwhere around atleast $400+ lmao (i'm so not getting that. they'll proly give me like 50 bucks or a $25 gift card at home depot )

haha all my birthday money was spend on an annual pass to some theme parks around by me but I doubt i'll get much this year since my parents spend a lot of money moving to Australia but I am ok with that since we need the money for the family etc.

So I am expecting a nice quiet christmas this year

My birthday is 26 days after Christmas
My Birthday/Christmas present for last year was having my bedroom decorated.
We moved house in Feburary.

I usually just get something like 50-70 pounds to spend when I want to. and a couple of small presents on the day for my Birthday.

Hmmm. The amount you are entitled to, I would say, is completely dependent on your family income. There is no way to say 'what sounds fair' without knowing about that. What sorts of things did you get for previous presents?

Rather than combining your Christmas and Birthday presents, just ask for money for your Birthday, then when Christmas is really close tell them you want the same amount of money. I can see the dilemma, them being so close together it must be hard to determine what ought be a Birthday and what should be a Christmas present. It is all quite variable :/

Simplest answer I can give: Sounds fair to ask for a combined present.... or three.

My birthday is December 20th.

Never had to ask my parents to combine gifts for an expensive one though, I was never jipped or anything growing up, they always gave my brother and I the best.If I wanted something for my birthday or Christmas, I generally got it.
The one exception of combining gifts was when they paid for my Italy trip when I was 15, but it was almost 6k, just for airfare,50% of my meals and hotels so it's completely understandable.
