Have you already been through one? Would you be curious to be there to watch one? How did you feel about it?
Just curious I guess. I'm facing one in some months as a witness and I'm stressed as fuck, so I wanted to read some feedback about it. ><
Suddenly my eyes are open
Everything comes into focus, oh!
We are all illuminated,
Lights are shining on our faces
We are, we are blinded ! We are, we are blinded !
lots of times , My mother works in Court so i was going there after School , Years ago ... (Now im in Highschool which is close to my House so i go there)
Dont panic or feel Stressed , they will realize and might think nasty stuff... Just be your self , with a calm attitude ...
it is good to watch
sometimes we put up walls , not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to knock them down.
I've been involved with quite a few. Don't worry too much about it. Just relax and say what you know and everything will be okay. They are quite fun though.
I have been to many as a year ago i was considering studying law and wanted to sit in on a few and see what goes on. I think they are very interesting listening to how each side forms their case against the opposition is quite amazing.
As for being in one as a witness just remember you are only helping if you tell the truth, of course you are sworn to tell the truth. But make sure that it is the full truth and you don't leave anything out. Don't be worried though you haven't done anything you are just the 'back-up' so to speak
Make a good impression by dressing professionally.
They don't care about your opinions; they just want facts.
What you saw,heard,smelled, whatever.
Never say "I think..." that tells them you're unsure of what you're talking about and the defense will tear you apart. you'll instantly become an uncredible witness.
Don't give more information than you're asked for. Even if you're telling the truth, the more you say the more information the defense lawyer will have to twist around and discredit you.
Listen closely and give yourself time to form your answer before speaking.
EDit: Also, don't fidget and don't sit with a closed or slouched posture.
They're both signs of someone being untruthful or trying to hide or withhold something. Speak clearly in an even tone as well. when people lie, the majority of peoples' voices will go up in pitch from stress.
I haven't been though a trial, but I'm sure you'll be fine
Stay calm, don't get too stressed over it and unless your the one being charged, you have nothing to worry about!
"Keep Calm and Carry On", as they say.
