If you get bullied, does it mean people think you are weak?
This is pretty embarrassing to admit:
A few of the girls from the basketball team at my highschool have been bullying me - like trying to start fights with me in front of other people to make me look like a wimp. At first I just blew it off, but this girl Stephanie is now saying she is going to show up at my house and beat my a**. I think the reason they think they can kick my a** is bc their friend Becky beat me up once back in middle school. (but I am way bigger now, and she cheated by kicking me in the junk). Anyway, should I be worried?
a) How big of an advantage is it that these girls are athletic (I don't play any sports)? Do you think this jock/bball girl Steph could beat me up? (I am 6' tall) pic http://community.webshots.com/photo/...55621173ibIiNw
b) Why do you think they target/bully me? Do they think I'm weak? Is it the jock/nerd thing?
c) Am I a wimp for being scared of a girl?

I'm scared of this girl
That doesn't make me a wimp though.
It's not that big of an advantage that they are athletic. I'm not athletic whats-o-ever and I can hold my own if I need to. If it came down to it, I'm sure you could as well. Mind over matter. If you are in danger your adrenaline will kick into gear.
The only thing is, fights happen rather quickly. You just go with it if one was to break out, no time to think or perform strategic ideas.
You're only weak if you think you are weak. Most likely it is because of the jock/nerd stereotyping. You shouldn't be worried or afraid as long as you keep it cool. Don't act like you're scared to death of them, and they won't bother you (mentally speaking). Physically speaking, they will probably still try. And your options there are to either report them to a teacher/principle (you'll probably get a lot of hate from other students, be called a pansy, etc.), or you can stand up for yourself. If I was in your shoes, and they started insulting me, I'd insult back. If they shove me, I shove back. If they hit me, I hit back. You won't get into any trouble considering they dished the first servings and you are just defending yourself, and they'll have an extra load of consequences considering they would be bullying, that always plays a high importance in the how much trouble are they in factor.
Like I said, that would be how I handle the situation. You may do something 100% completely different. The choice is yours.

Do you think a girl (esp an aggressive jock-type) could beat up some guys? What %age of guys do you think a girl like steph could beat up?
Re: If you get bullied, does it mean people think you are weak?
I can't really give you a percentage, it depends on the guy. How strong he is, or if he knows how to fight/defend himself in a fight, etc. I guess even the weakest guy scan pick up a stick and go to town. Many things play into factor with these type of situations.
She could probably beat up some guys though. For example. There's a fellow in my grade named Charlie. He is 5'11, and weighs 105 pounds. He's pure white (never goes outside), can't lift more than a 5 pound dumbbell, or do 10 push ups. I'm sure she could beat the hell out of him. But if you give him a bat, one good swing is all it takes.
But like I said, even he could get an adrenaline rush in the middle of a fight. It's a matter of do you want to defend yourself with everything you have, or just stand there as they beat you?

Re: If you get bullied, does it mean people think you are weak?
Wow, this is your third fight with a girl today! Tough break!
And yes, many people will associate not standing up for yourself and/or not being confident as a sign of weakness. So ignore them, stand tall and stand strong and you'll be fine!
Re: If you get bullied, does it mean people think you are weak?
You should never consider to hit or fight with a girl/woman, and it's not really moral to hit a girl in my book no matter what, unless it's really necessary like in case of immediate self defense, but as long as nothing happened yet, then you should never fight them, and be smart enough to avoid the whole fight! And no, you aren't a wimp because you are scared of them. First of all, it's because they are more than one, and secondly, because they are athletic, and it would be normally if they beat you, even if you are big as you described yourself! If you get involved in a fight with these people, you drag yourself down to their level!
I don't think she will bother herself to come to your place to beat you! unless things are pretty shitty between you and them! She's probably just bullying you because you are showing her that you are afraid of them! Then don't! They keep bullying you when you feed them with your attention!
Just don't show any fear! and they will think twice before messing with you, because by that, they will have their share of fear as well...
It's really the time for humanity to take a dump.

Re: If you get bullied, does it mean people think you are weak?
I think you just need to avoid the fights.
What are you doing to provoke them?
If they're doing it for no reason then why not just tell someone? I see you're 17 so I assume these people are around the same age as you. This is really immature behaviour coming from 17 year olds. What makes them think beating you up is going to get them anywhere? Just tell your parents; it isn't wimpy. Nobody wants to get beat up so don't run away with the idea that you need to "take it like a man" because you don't.
