Hey, so its my last year (im a senior now) and i didnt make my basketball team even though i've played on the team for the past 3 years of highschool :\ Okay so in grade 11 i was on the bench usually cuz we had grade 12s and victory lappers in our team so the coach wanted them to play. well this year the coach moved schools and we now have a new coach. I am one of the 5 returning players, and i didnt make the team, it doesnt make sense because i worked so hard for the past 6 months and stayed after practices at volleyball to work at my skill even more, and that was to have a good season, not, that i not even make the team :\ i went and talked to the coach and he said that he wants more grade 11s on the team because he has more years to work wit them but it doesnt make sense because there are all these grade 12s on the team and they never played on the team last year :\ one of the players who made the team didnt even try out and made it, whcih is stupid i think, and that the coach said hed only take 12 guys but theres 13 cuz of him and honestly. not just my freinds but teachers and such and all these people KNOW that i am better than MOST of the guys who made it, like not tryna be cocky but i know im better, and you can tell. but thats not what i care about, i care about basektball itself, its who i am and i cant concentrate on my studies these days im university level student and blkeahg everythigns falling apart, and it sucks cuz its my last year! and ok, well someone said to me that he might be racist, cuz im brown and theres no other brown kid on the team, and EVERYONE who didnt play or was just there for fun made it and they were white.. idk i dont wanna beleive it, but i guess it makes sense. i am so tensed right now please. someone. words of hope?

and i know that some of yous might say, that they lost a good player and what not, but it doesnt feel right still cuz people said i was gonna be the captian and stuff and in the end I am not the one playing, not the team who lost me :\

That sucks man! :( I do find it a bit weird that you've played for three years now and didn't make it the fourth year, but if you feel that strongly about it, I would go over the coach's head and speak to your principal.

That's the only thing I can think of for you to do. The downfall to that is that it may not do much good and if you do get on the team, it might cause some resentment from the coach. Now, I'm not trying to discourage you in any way. I'm only being honest.

One more thing. If you do decide to speak to someone, don't go in there being cocky because it won't do you any favors. Just go in, be respectful, point out the issues that you see, and ask if there's anything that can be done!

arghh there is a vid about something like this somewhere with a lot of famous people whom people said NO to and yet they proved everyone wrong.

For example, Einstein and there is a basketball player who was refused into joining a team but now he is really famous, I can't really remember the name tho :/ but I will try to find the vid for ya.

Just don't give up and prove that coach that he is wrong, do what ever it takes to do that.

guys i understand i shouldnt give up, but where would i go with this? i am probably not going to have a career in basketball because of university and such, this was my last year and its messed up :\ i wouldnt have cared if i didnt make it last year cuz i would have a year to try again, but this year was for sure my last year :\ next stop is uniiii.. and the program im going to, keeps you on your toes anyway.. so sports must just be cancelled outta there
