I think you need to talk to him about the dating site, first of all even if he's motives are good and just for friends I don't think it's good to have woman thinking he's somewhat available.
Also, Could he just be really nervous about seeing you again? I mean, seeing you before was one thing but after he opened up the other night and showed you how he felt etc he could be nervous and embarrassed and that. It's hard cause now he may been vulnerable.
Just remember to take it slow, dating is how we learn and how we grow. Not all of them work out, they're all different. So just take it slow and trust him for now, soon enough you'll be able to tell. Just try and enjoy things the way they are. You should be able to tell by the look in his eyes, or the way he touches you, or how he kisses you etc if he wants you.
