Default Over protective parents!!!!

I am in 8th grade and it is my last year at my middle school. Just the other day the teachers were talking to all of the classes about a 8th grade trip to Virginia beach for 4 days. At that moment I was like ohhh man what am I gonna tell mom and dad. You see, my parents are so over protective!! They never let me do anything or go to any over night trips. They are so scared something will happen to me. But I really want to go to this trip and I talked to my parents about it but they said they didn't know. Every year my school had an over night trip and they didn't ever let me go. I need some advice on how I can convince them to let me go to V.A beach! Can you guys help? Your really smart Im sure some of you will have a good suggestion!

Thanks!

I would tell you to FaceTime them but I don't know if you have a iPhone or a smart phone. I go throughout the same thing and I'm a Jr in High School.

Kiss A LOT of ass. Do all the chores, remember your please and thanks you's, subtly compliment them every once in a while. That's all I can think of.

I would say that the only thing that you can do is to just have a conversation with them about it. Tell them how you feel and why you should be able to go. Do it in a civil and nice manner and don't get too confrontational. Show them that you are able to take care of yourself. If you do that, they might be more willing to let you go.

Have a nice MATURE conversation. No whining, begging, bitching, pleading. If they say no, ask them why. If they say that they're worried about you then mention to them something along the lines of what happens when you get into the real world. Everyone else will for the most part be able to look after themselves. It's not like they let you run wild, you're supervised by adults, and nothing is going to happen.

Ok so I know protective parents. But honestly I know it sucks for right now but when u look back on it u will c that they did it out of love and don't want u to grow up and become a horrible person. I know what ur feeling like I'm not even allowed to own bikini's! When u grow up and have kids I'm sure u will look back and say "wow I'm glad that my parents raised me the way that they did, because I might not have been who I am today" Sorry I know it sux but their decision is going to be final and there is nothing that u are going to be able to do about it :(
