Re: So, I love my girl..
Lmao awesome conversations. I've actually done that to change the subject.
Him: Are you okay?
*Me zoning out thinking about what's bothering me*
Him: What's on your mind baby?
Me: What? Oh, I was just thinking of my other boyfriend.
That normally changes the topic for a few minutes before he starts up again lol.
But I normally tell him because of how stubborn he gets. I think you should try and open up a little more. Obviously you don't have to be an open book and let everything out. That's your choice whether or not you want to talk about things or not. And like DeepDistress said, she wants to make you feel better. So sometimes instead of opening up, you can just say "I don't want to talk about it, but you know what would make me feel better? Let's go out for lunch/watch a movie ect." That's what my boyfriend does sometimes. When he does I normally let it be because I know it will make him feel better. So create some alternatives that your girlfriend can do to help you that doesn't include you spilling your guts out.
It's good you understand where she's coming from. It might take a while for her to get used to and understand where you're coming from. Try and be patient with her, and ask her to be patient with you.
