OK, so I'm gonna see a movie in a month or two... I read somewhere that seeing movies is supposed to be one of the most social events that you can do, and that you're always supposed to go with a friend, or you'll look weird and stand out. I stand out enough as it is... And I don't have a girlfriend or any friend that would want to see it (or if they would, they sure as hell wouldn't go at midnight). So... would I really stick out like a hurt thumb if I go to a movie alone? Will I look like a loser or something?

From joy to sorrow, yesterday to tomorrow, you've been there. Friends like you are rare, your touch is so gentle,
You're my guardian angel.
Like a blossoming flower spreading your wings in grace, filling my heart with power
by feeling your embrace.
Wherever the wind may blow, we will overcome this war, in times happy or sore, I will never let you go.

Re: Is it socially accepted to attend a movie alone?
How is the movies social? All you're supposed to do is sit quietly and watch the movie. Unless the people who wrote whatever you read are like my mother who never shuts up during movies >.< And I've gone to the movies by myself plenty of times. I like it better that way, actually. No one else to be concerned about losing once the movie lets out. Especially at midnight.

I see no issue with it... I mean, its not liike you're talking to yourself over a dinner of fine French dining and a cool wine. Its where you sit in a dark room and people do shit to each other on a screen.

WTF it's a movie that's it
Even if it isn't "socially acceptable" why care what some stranger thinks
