What kind of psychological effect could this have?
If you saw your mother, the only person you really loved, die in front of you? The only person to care for your interests. The only person that would help you. How would this affect a person that was 14 years old? Even when it's been 4 years ago? How would one cope?
Re: What kind of psychological effect could this have?
Well it'd be upsetting no matter what, but it would vary greatly on how she died. If she died peacefully in a hospital with her family at her side, including her fourteen year old kid, it would be a lot easier to cope with than, say, getting violently murdered in front of the kid.
In a situation more like the second, they probably wouldn't cope well without a lot of therapy, no matter who they were.. In a situation more like the first, well everyone would cope differently. A lot of kids would have a normal mourning period, start to continue there lives whilst thinking about there mothers death, maybe having good days and hard days. Then some kids would rebel, some would withdraw, you never know.
There are a LOT of factors that would determine how they would cope.
Who they were left with (Dad, grandparents, step dad, siblings)
The relationship they had with said person(s)
Whether or not there were addional changes (moving etc)
Their personality/role
+ 10 billion others.

He asked how they would cope. I made the fallowing points:
- Everyone is different, so how they cope depends on the individual person.
- There are a lot of factors that would affect how they would cope. I listed some of the factors.

Dude I'm sorry, I wasn't saying it like that. You're totally right - I was all over the place. It's really late, I'm pretty useless at this hour.
Sorry, I was just kidding around.
Are you alright?

Obvious Answer is Obvious . ^
Well , Each person is different , so it will affect each person differently . Thats for sure , there is no "Spesific" mental illines that will get in you , if your mum dies , otherwise it would be called " Mom's Death Disorder " -_- ...
Normally people would fall in Dystymia ? ... The most common i would say .
Anybody can become angry , Thats really easy ...
but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.
