You can't do anything to make your period regular, it just has to settle after a while. Taking the pill is good, because apparently it stops cramps. Im sorry, I forgot, you actually can get stuff for period regulation. I used to take it, You can get certain pills from Chinese Herbal doctors. They don't work for everyone, but also drinking lots of water can help too. But it does settle after a while. It can usually take about 2 - 7 years. Long time I know, but gets better

The pill can be really good and useful, so go for it if you want. It does help with the pre pain of periods

To be honest, I haven't seen any negative side-effects to taking the pill.
It depends on the strength of the pill to lessen cramps and regulate periods though.
I have to take stronger ones myself.

I'm not sure if their are other methods but the pill really helps me.

Also, it lessens the irritability some. So your hormones won't fluctuate as much.

All-in-all, the pill kicks ass.
The only real down side is that you gotta take it everyday and if you take them then forget two days in a row then you might start your period early.
Like if you take it for a week then forget two days you might start.

Well i've never been on the pill, but it does work in regulating your period.
You cant really naturally regulate it, but eating well and not stressing too much will help.
Also most women dont get side effects, but there can be some headaches/nausea, but on the other hand, i think it helps with cramps and lightens your period.

Yes. It regulates your period, you have three weeks where you take the pill and your body is fooled into believing (Spell Check?) it's pregnant, then you have one week off where you menstruate like clockwork. You can also skip a period if it falls on a week that you really don't want one, like a holiday or anniversary week.

Side effects - I've never experienced any really. Your doctor will go through a list of risk factors that could influence you having side effects though. There is also a correlation between taking the Pill and a higher risk of Breast cancer, but I'd google it or ask your doctor because I am unsure.

I don't think there is much you can do to regulate your periods, but I may be wrong, ask your doctor

Hope this was useful! x

Here's a bit taken from About.com....It will help answer your questions. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to ask. x

Question: What are the Side Effects of The Pill?

Answer:

While the majority of girls and women who use the birth control pill experience no side effects, some women experience side effects such as:

bleeding between periods
weight gain
nausea
breast tenderness
headaches
mood changes
blood clots (usually occur only in women over 35 who smoke)

Most of these side effects improve after 3 months on the Pill, if they don't your health care provider may prescribe a different oral contraceptive which may work better for you with less side effects.

Other side effects of the birth control pill that make most women happy are:

lighter periods
milder menstrual cramps
improved acne
protection against certains types of breast disease, ovarian cysts, anemia, and uterine cancer.
