Im not sure where this thread would go but i thought it might go here because its about pregnancy etc.
Theres probably already one like this but anyway....


I know 2 girls who had abortions and 2 girls who decided to keep the baby.

So what are your thought on abortions?

I think its alright if you for example get pregnant by mistake, and your really young or have financial problems or anything that might make it really hard to take care of or maybe just if you're not ready, but a definite NO to constant abortion, like some prostitutes have to use often or maybe just people that like to have sex without contraceptives. <3

OK. Here in Australia this is a very big matter that every one and politicians are debating about. It's not easy to say because a baby is innocent and shouldn't be murdered. Yes, the baby is alive, so therefore I consider this to be murder.

HOWEVER: Some women are raped and nurturing the baby will remind her of the offender each time she looks at her own child. Research shows this often leaves the child left to neglect or even abuse from their own Mother because they do love them but then they don't at the same time. Further to this, we have debate regarding the whether the fact we should make it illegal to give abortions if we know the child will have a lifelong disability that will cause more harm to the child then good.

Even though this is murder - I believe in the second paragraph. For only these reasons should it be legal. If you are a teenager and got pregnant and didn't want the baby - no offence but that's her fault. She should either one (1) had her boyfriend use a condom or two (2) didn't have sex until she's ready.

Everyone knows that every time you have sex - you "risk" having a baby or getting STDs.

Just my opinion.

I think the girl should decide for herself. It's her baby and her body.
If she can't psychologically do it, because she's too young or she's not ready, I don't think it's right to obligate her to keep a baby she doesn't want and put her in depression. It's a very bad way to start a new life no?

@Jems - question mate: why should the FEMALE make the choice? If she's still together with the man then I believe it should be up to both. eg, many legal forms - #1 the teenager wants to get married and they're U18 - BOTH parents must sign. #2 a teenager gets a form from the police service so he can take out an AVO on an enemy - BOTH parents must sign. If someone murdered my baby purely because she doesn't want the baby anymore or claims she "can't" handle it - well I would never talk to her again.

I think it's their choice.
It all depends on what situation the person is in.
A wealthy woman with a man and no problems shouldn't get one though.
But, it's their choice.

Simply because it's her boby. She'll have to be pregnant for 9 month. Sure I can't know what it feels like, but if youre not abble to do it psychologically, I don't see why people around you (especially men) would force you to do it. Anyway, let's not argue on that, I wont change my opinion

Its an awful subject anyway you brake it down. Like you I've had friends that have gone both ways, I guess in the end its a choice, but its a crappy one. If you young and not ready for a kid then you have two not so good options. And from my point of view, my friends that have gone though and gotten ride of the baby have been a mess after for a long time.

If we where all a bit more careful non of this would be an issue. It can all be avoived if we are a little more careful when we have sex.

It's still a 'living thing'. But, I really don't see it as 'murder'
