Default False negative?

Has anyone here had a pregnancy test come up negative then turned out to be pregnant?

Because I know a lot of people who have had multiple pregnancy tests come up negative yet still been pregnant, but apparently there's no such thing. This is a personal experience vs medical professionals type thing. I'm just curious to know peoples' experiences with this...

Its abosulutely possible. It happens a lot when the woman tests too early or when the hormone detected by HPTs isn't high enough. I've known a couple girls who said within the first two months (8 wks) of pregnancy all hpts showed up negative but got positives from blood tests. Blood tests are more accurate, they must have had a low level of the hormone that the htp couldn't detect. I think it would be practically impossible to be 3+ months pregnant and not get a postive HTP however. If you did, you'd have a very unhealthy pregnancy.

It happens, but I think the main reason for it is because the test is being taken too early. You can't take a pregnancy test after a week and have it come up positive because the baby hasn't implanted yet. 2 weeks is the minimum time you have to wait before taking a test, and even then, the line can be faint and the digital ones may not detect it.
I'd wait to see if the period was missed, and only then test.
