These are some baby milestones that will occur in the first 15 months.
{I am going to say "she/her" but if you have a boy, then just replace the pronouns}
1 Month:
Your baby should be able to lift her head while laying on her belly, not very good, but at about a 45 degree angle, not for a long period of time. She will respond to sounds easily. She will also start to stair at people or objects, even seems like baby is staring into space.
2 Months:
Your baby should start smiling by this time, and even starting to gurgle and coo. She should be able to watch or look at people or objects that are not moving, with her eyes. Should be able to hold her head up for a little while longer.
3Months:
She will be able to recognize your voice and face and even your scent. Baby should be able to follow or track people as they walk by, or moving objects. Your baby should be able to (or start tying to), when laying on belly, push up on her arms or elbows, doing a little push up. Just lifting her shoulders off the floor. She should be able to hold her head up steadily. Your baby should be starting to use her hands more. Should be able to blow bubbles.
4 Months:
Your baby should start to roll over by this month. When you hold baby upright, on your legs or the floor, she should be able to bear her weight. Your baby should be laughing or giggling socially by now, if not sooner. She should be able to start grasping toys, and grasping hands together.
5 Months:
Your baby may start cutting her first tooth! She should start playing with her own hands and even discover her feet. Baby should recognize her own name, and respond to it. She should be able to respond to sounds, turn around if she hears something. Your baby should be able to roll over in both directions.
6 Months:
You can start with solid food now. Your baby should be able to sit up for a short period of time. She should be able to "mimic" sounds. She should also be able to put things in her mouth by this time.
7 Months:
Your baby should be able to sit up without support. She should be able to start to put random syllables together to form random babble words. She should be able to reach for things and drag them to herself. She may even be able to sit up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth.
8 Months:
She should be able to say "mama" or "dada," but may say it to anyone. She should be starting to crawl now! Your baby may be able to stand while holding onto things, such as a table. She may be able to point at things and may be able to find objects, like something under a table.
9 Months:
Your baby should be putting more and more random syllables together to make random words. She may be able to pull herself to stand up while holding onto a table. She may aslo be able to walk along the table while still holding onto it.
10 Months:
Your baby should be crawling good by now! She should be able to wave goodbye or hello. She may even start to play peek-a-boo also. She should also be drinking with a sippy cup by now and be able to eat with her fingers.
11 Months:
Your baby should be able to say "mama" or "papa" to the correct parent. She should be starting to try and stand on her own without the table, even if just for a short period of time. She should understand the word "no" and easy commands/instructions.
12 Months:
Your baby should be able to say one other word besides "mama" or "papa." She should start to try and walk on her own, and even take her first steps! She should start mimicking what you do, or what others do.
13 Months:
Your baby should be walking on her own! Even if only for a few steps. She should be able to bed over and pick things up off the floor. She should be able to use two or three words, such as "hi" or "bye." She should start to "help" you dress her, by holding out her arm or leg.
14 Months:
Your baby should be walking good on her own by now. She should respond well to certain instructions and commands, such as "pick up your cup." She should start to be able to scribble with a crayon.
15 Months:
Your baby may start running by now! She may even have a new word for everything you say, "no!" She should be able to play ball, by rolling that ball back and forth. Should be able to use at least three words. Beware, she may start trying to climb on things!
**
Do not forget, every baby is different, and develops at different stages/times. So do not be worried if your baby is late/early on hitting milestones
