Default Teenage Pregnancy.

Hi, I'm Angelica! I just want to get you're opinion on what you think about teen pregnancy. Teens becoming pregnant before the age of 20 is a very big issue in society today, if you already didn't know. Why do you think most teens are becoming pregnant? Are you anti-teen pregnancy or pro-teen pregnancy? How do you think this issue could be resolved? Explain.

I think it's stupid, personally. Yeah okay so some people get on just fine being pregnant that young and really well done to them, because I'd hate to be in that position. You should be focused on your exams, not children. You're still a child yourself and are in no financial or emotional state to care for a child.

It's a shame that children are being stripped of their innocence and purity so young in life and I'm shocked at how bad it's gotten. They're not being brought up properly, imo, and their parents need to wake them up and keep an eye on them. How the hell is a 13 year old somehow able to get pregnant...parents are where exactly? I wasn't even allowed out on my own for that long when I was 13.

They need to be taught about contraception if anything. If kids this young have to do it then at least take care not to end up with a child, it can ruin lives. I'm assuming a boyfriend at the time isn't a serious one and nobody wants to go through school with that burden. It makes me cringe to see kids so young trying to keep a family already, it's sad.
There seems to be no shame anymore, like a 14 year old girl can gladly say she's happy with a baby, unmarried and unemployed not even having finished their GCSE's.
No disrespect to any teen mothers here but I'd be ashamed of myself.
Kids trying to grow up too fast and think they're ready for sex when they should still be talking about video games and homework.
It angers me a little to think about the stupidity, not only of the teens seeing as I suppose accidents can happen, but their parents.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I won't be thinking about children until I'm married with a steady income.

forced abortion for minors, or at least put the responsibility on the teen's parents to make the choice since they are legally responsible for their child until the age of 18.

Stop handing out baby bonuses and UCCB government checks to girls who haven't held down a full time job for at least a year before having a baby.

Cut off welfare and associated benefits for girls who get pregnant while already on government assistance.

Parents need to stop allowing their kids to burden them with supporting the baby financially.

Stop airing shit shows like Teen Mom. I know 4 girls who got knocked up just hoping to get on a show like that.-_-

teach more than just abstinence only sexual education.

I'm on the fence, sometimes it's an accident (condom breking etc) sometimes it's intentional, depends on the circumstances in which the pregnancy came about, unprotected sex is stupid. @LaurenTheNerd has a point, parents (and schools) should place more emphasis on teaching more about contraception as long as both people are ready age doesn't really matter, but they should be properly informed.

Yeah adding to that, they need to stop with the glamourization (spelling? xD). 16 and Pregnant shouldn't be motivation. I think in general people need to express how frowned upon it should be in society..

The problem with that is that teens are naturally rebelious, and theres nothing wrong with sex, as long as protection (preferably seperate forms by BOTH people) is used.

I never said there was anything wrong with sex kid, you're preaching to the choir;I love sex.
However teaching a bunch of hormone raging teens to just say no to sex does absolutely nothing if they don't say no.

Also, coming from someone who got pregnant using condoms, birth control pills and spermicide; protection doesn't always work, even if it doesn't noticeably fail(like a broken condom)
IMO, Teens can have sex all they like, they just have to have the maturity and common sense to make a smart decision if they DO get pregnant.

If a woman of any age can handle and support a baby I support them fully. If they cant, I don't. That would include 13 year olds as well as women in their 30's and 40's.
I agree that more emphasis needs to be put on contraception. It's disturbing all the questions and misconceptions I see and hear from girls (and boys) who are having sex or contemplating it yet know absolutely nothing about it.

It's ashame of how I've seen the youth of today are turning out. It's partly the parent's fault because first, they aren't on them like white on rice, second they basically let them do what they want. If it were me having sex before I was an adult, I'd seriously get my ass kicked. The thing is about children, you've gotta be financially stable and ready for them. even some adults lay up and pop babies out like it's nothing and they STILL don't have a dime to their name. So it has nothing absolutely do with age, it's just a number. that still doesn't class you as "Oh, I'm able to take care of this baby properly and I have the money for them."

You need to be able have a FULL TIME job that brings in a good income for yourself and that child. ALSO, you should be out on your own too, not still living under your parent's roof and most likely, still taking care of you. Again, I am not saying all teen mothers are bad. their just TOO young to be thinking about a child at all when their still a CHILD themselves. I'll probably come back and add more things I've gotta say but I can't think of anything right yet..

Sorry, misunderstood, I meant that when people are horny all the time they probably won't be able to control themselves, so teaching people to say no is futile anyway, schools need to emphasise the importance of contraception as opposed to abstinance. As others have said they should also reduce the benefits slightly. IMO an abortion would be the EASIEST choice, not necessarily the RIGHT one though.
