should it hurt?
I'm a girl and I just started shaving "down there". Shaving didn't hurt when I did it the first time, but when I did it the second time, it was really painful and I cut myself a lot, even though I used shaving cream and a new razor. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Re: should it hurt?
I noticed that when I shave down there I have to be gentle and aware of which way the hair is growing. Sometimes you can easily nick your self if you're shaving the wrong way or going too fast. The skin there is rather sensitive so try going slow, especially if you're shaving a few days after a previous shaving. I've noticed I nick myself a lot if the hair is only prickly and not to it's full length, meaning the razor has more space to nick my skin.
Maybe I'm not making any sense, but that's what I'd try. I hope it helps some to at least know I've cut myself before too down there. _-_ owchie! I resorted to electric shavers for that area.

Re: should it hurt?
The hair is really weird down there for me, it usually takes 2 days for it to grow back but I usually have to wait a week to shave there again because the hairs were to tiny before that.
Maybe you're just shaving too soon?
Also, sometimes you may accidently rip to hairs out which will result in bleeding.
On the upside though, they'll grow back slower. *has done this a lot*
Kinda like with waxing, you pull the hairs out, they bleed, but it takes longer to grow back.
Anyway, I've only nicked myself down there once and it hurt like a bitch too.
Thing is, I'm abnormally flexible so if I bend enough then I can see where I'm shaving exactly.
But, yeah, the skin is really sensitive down there.

Re: should it hurt?
Very true, if you shave to early, it hurts more, and more chance of cutting yourself. Don't ask why, it just happens

Re: should it hurt?
Make sure the skin is really wet first. Don't dry-shave. Make sure the razor blade is wet.
Don't dig the razor into your skin. Don't do it too quickly. You might just have very sensitive skin. Oh, and use water pretty hot, not lukewarm.

Re: should it hurt?
if this keeps happening, the people above mightt be right you might be have started shaving to early or not waiting long enough before doing it again. just do it slowly so there less chance of hurting yourself.
the hair removal creams might be helpful aswell, think about using them.

Re: should it hurt?
apply a hot towel on the area to sooth the hair
Main thing is make sure the razor is fresh
shaving creame is a must
shave in the direction the hair grows
use soap before, and then aftershave after
