when they aren't?

I always hear two of my closest girlfriends complain about being flat chested. They are like A size. A's B's and C's are the most average. I always thought if they are small what's a triple or double a cup then? I find that very insulting. Why do girls think just because they aren't they are small? Why can't they just be happy with being average and end it?

Girls feel this way about their breasts in much the same way that guys always seem to think their penises are too small.....I think it's a combination of too much free time, too much self absorption, too little life experience to know what's 'normal' or 'acceptable', and too much insecurity.

This is spot-on, though I'd like to add that it may also come down to preferance. If your friends (or any other girl for that matter) have breasts which aren't their prefered size, anything else may seem unacceptable to them.

well, i don't have that complex... but yeah, last year all girls wanted to have boobs like mine because i am skinny and i have ..enough boobs.. and some were fat and some were skinny but no one had really big boobs.. i think girls always have to compare themselves to other things.. if it's not the boobs, it's the ass or the belly... i never had that issue mostly because i couldn't be happier with my body but if i had small chest as well, i'd probably feel bad because boys are always saying: "ah look at her boobs... i'd like to grab them..." and if i had no boobs, i'd feel very bad...

not all girls have problems with being flat chested. I am flat chested mainly because I'm a late bloomer and I could care less how my body turns out.

i've heard that the average size is like B-C if you go by averages, but to me you should just be happy with what you've got. some days i like my figure some days i don't, i'm like DD but shortness is my issue really but its because of all the pressure now through magazines, celebrities and such which make girls think they have to compete.
