Do you believe that dreams can be interpreted and have meanings? I'm pretty sceptical really. From what I've read about what dreams mean, it sounds a lot like cold reading (the same technique used in horoscopes). I just don't see how dreaming about a certain thing can have a deep hidden meaning.
For example here is a quote from a book about dreams and their meanings:
Quote:
Dreams of jail or serving a prison sentance can symbolize feelings of entrapment where the sleeper is committed to a prescribed course of action that you know will cause upset to those you love. Alternatively the sleeper could be locking away some aspect of themselves they wish to punish.
It all just seems like bull to me. What about you guys?
EDIT: Sorry about the title of this thread. After re-reading it, it's obvious it doesn't make the slightest bit of sense.

Don't forget to be awesome.
Whatever makes them money, makes them money. Even if they make up a load of bull about dreams, it doesn't matter as long as it is believable. Logically though, the dream analysis you had put forward does make sense.
I believe it too.
And, I read my horiscope daily.
I know that there made to suit everyone, but I still read them.
I don't know why I believe it though.
Meh, For me, its nice to have somthing I believe in.

I believe in it. My aunt does brilliant dream interpretations and I told her one of my dreams, she gave it meaning, I thought nothing of it. A few days later, it 100% applied to me. It was spooky.
i am not trying to pick on you or something like that. just trying to understand.. if you are christian, shouldn't you be against it? i mean reading dreams and reading cards are both an ancient (really ancient) thing that witches do. Of course you don't need to be a witch to do that, but the origins were there. Christians hate witches, so shouldn't you not belive in that because of your beliefs?
(this really may sound picky but i swear i am not though i love to pick on catholics, specially)
Dreams are a way of working out or problems while we sleep, finding the meaning will most likely stop the dream.
It's happened to me before so i can't really deny it.
Then you have Prophetic Dreams, Dreams of a Past Life. I don't always believe those. But I have had Prophetic Dreams before, that ended up coming true.
Scary.

Not necessarily. Christians don't actually hate witches, just witchcraft. An old saying goes "hate the sin, not the sinner". Same more or less applies here.
[of course there are exceptions]
Anyway, I don't care if it has ties to witches. As far as I'm concerned it's just an explainable method to figure out your problems.
Like therapy, except this can actually be useful.
