I feel like an absolutely terrible person. I feel like I'm very mean to some people and I feel like I'm not as nice as I really should be. I kind of hate my "old" friends and don't really want to hang out with them, so I try not to be around them as much now. I feel mean because they don't understand that I just don't want to hang out with them. They may think I'm being rude or mean just because I'm not interested in them anymore. Help please!

The same happened to me.. i think it gets to a point that if your not happy change, if they aren't being nice to you ignore them. Its your decision but if you say your not interested in them anymore then you shouldn't be worried about what they think of you? They'll come round to the idea in the end don't worry

Well, this might sound overly simple, but if you don't like them, maybe find a nice way of separating yourself from them so you're not around them? That way, you won't be irritable in their presence, you'll feel better about the type of person you are, and you'd be free to make new friends who would hopefully please you.

I've been doing my best to try not to be as much of a part of the group and find new people to hang out with. The only problem is that I have some friends that I really like, but they hang out with those that I don't like as much. I want to hang out with my friends, but they are always around the ones that I don't want to hang out with as much.

Maybe tell the friends you want to hang with that you don't like the others and want some time with them w/o the others you don't like.

I would tell them as nice as possible that you don't want to hang out with them. You don't have to scream it in their faces or anything. Telling them is probably better than not having fun and being yourself when you're around them because you don't want to be around them.
