Default Deep cuts, being stabbed/shot?

Hey everyone, so I'd like to be prepared for the future.

If I had a super deep cut in my arm, stomach, or anywhere what shall I do?
Also, if it's on my wrist or ankle, shall I tie something around the top of my arm to stop circulation? I mean, I've seen in films where people tie rope to stop the circulation but I heard that can make it so that you need it to get chopped off?

Also, if stabbed or shot what shall I do?
Supposing I lived...

Apply pressure to the wound. Directly that is. Blood needs to stop flowing in order for the blood to start clotting.
If you use gauze, never take off the gauze. If it gets soaked with blood, add another layer. If you don't have gauze, use a towel.

Elevate the wound. I think that, like you said, a tourniquet should almost never be use, only when it's "life or limb". So, yeah, it does risk a danger to a limb but I think (not sure) it also depends on how long it's been on.

Before doing any of that though (except pressure) you should call an ambulance.

I've stabbed myself pretty deep in the arm before. Ran into a gate and a loose wire pierced half way through. All I did was apply pressure and elevate it. I used my jacket for the cloth to apply pressure. Then when I got home it was still bleeding so I ran it under water as I remember hearing water pressure can stop blood flow.
Then I just reapplied pressure long enough to get the first aid kit and I put some gauze on and shortly after my father came home and saw some blood and then kept yelling at me to apply more pressure.
Then my mother finally came home and redressed it because I did a horrible job at it.

Thankfully while it was deep, it wasn't very large and my thick blood clots more easily. But, yeah, I just kinda acted on common sense at least with the applying pressure part.

But if you get stabbed or shot. Apply pressure, keep calm, find a phone and use it. Gotta get to a hospital or ambulance, the last think you want is to get an infection from the wound. It's not pretty.

Never stop circulation though.

By the way, I'm no expert on this. It's just that I picked up a couple of things from stupidly running into a metal gate and getting stabbed in the arm from it and because there was this one guy who got stabbed at school once and then before the teachers got there, this other guy who happened to be there applied pressure until the nurse got there to take over. Didn't really see what happened after that, we all got shoved out of there. But I don't think one can elevate their stomach area about their heart so I imagine they just kept applying pressure.

if you are cut in the arm, or any limb tie it off to slow blood loss. you wont lose limb typically, but if there is a 3" hole in your arm yah it aint gunna make it.

if you are shot in stomach, it is most painfull place to be wounded, your stomach acid reeks havok in your body, and it can take days for you to die from it.

mind if you get shot, there is always way more than damaged flesh tissue, there is organ trauma, shock, and chance of infection.
