Default Birth Control

Do you use any?
Why/ why not?
What kind?

I was previously on the depo shot. A shot administered once every three months. However weight gain is a big side effect and I packed on 15 lbs because of it, so I got off.

I currently have Implanon. Its a birth control implant, that is inserted on the inside of your upper arm. It is about the length of a match stick, and the thickness of a rice grain. It releases a small dose of homornes every day, over the course of three years.
I`ve had it for about three months now, and I love it =]

The procedure was super ease. They have me a shot in my arm to numb it, which was only a little sting, and waited for it to take effect. The actual implant is inside a big needle, which they just push into your arm. Kind of like how you microchip a dog. I didn`t feel a thing, and my arm was only slightly sore the next day.

The side effects are nearly the same as the depo shot, with much less weight gain. I`ve already lost 7lbs since I`ve been on it. Also, I have a scar about the size of a pen dot from where it was inserted. I can feel it beneath my skin, and often enjoy freaking my friends out by grabbing thier finger and rolling it over my sking where the implant is beneath.
=]

I`m much too forgetful for any type of birth control pill, and I liked the idea of something like merina, that would last five years, but the side effects were just too great for me to feel comofrtable getting that. I`ve heard horror stories of vaginal inserted birth controls getting imbetted in the walls of the uterus, causing ovarian cysts, ect. Plus, I can imaging that insertion and removal is painful as all hell, after all, its going through your cervix. OUCH!

I`m on birth control to, well duh, control birth. I`d rather not have children untill I`m done with college. I also use condoms, so I`d like to think I`m pretty full-proof. If I get pregnant after all of that, then something REALLY must have wanted me to have that child, lol.

Thats something I worried alot about when I first started on birth control. I take a bit of meds, and it was hard finding a birth control, witht he right doasge, that woulden`t cancel it out, but thankfully we were able to.

My sister became pregnant after her pills failed. She was 17 at the time, and pretty distraught over it, her and her boyfriend of the time even considered adoption and abortion. She went through alot of depression during he pregnancy, but its like a flip was switched when my neice was born. She tells me all the time that Lexi was the greatest thing that had ever happened to her. Granted, they did struggle the first few years, but I`ve never seen her so happy since my neice was born. =]

Does the aspect of twins scare you, or are you excited about it?

Seems as if bc is not reliable, two of you were on it and it failed.

i have been VERY depressed lately. baby daddy is not in the picture right now. i am 18, will be 19 in march.

the aspect of twins does in fact scare me. but at the same time i am very excited!!!! i had been self-harming for a long time before i got pregnant, and i am hoping that when the twins arrive, that they will give me a different look on life.

I was on birth control pills as well as using condoms when I got pregnant.

The way I see it, most forms of birth control are supposed to be 98%+ effective alone. If I can get pregnant on two of them combined, i can get pregnant on all of them so now I just use condoms. No more fussing with pills and shit and forget the damn depo shot.
I know someone who was on it for only two years and it deteriorated her bones to the point of her being confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life.

Sure you can.
That's where the "Just say no" abstinence preaching comes in.
