Right, and he'll have a harder time next year (and possibly beyond) as a result of his poor boundaries. But, it also sounds like he's pretty consistent..and your folks' reaction to him is consistent...so why are you so bothered by it? It all sounds pretty predictable, you should have a way to anticipate it, and take steps to not be so bothered by it. Unless, there's a part of you that is envious of his ability to control your folks...which is a double edged sword, as you've pointed out. Getting what's wanted by manipulating others only works with people who are vulnerable to that sort of thing....which is not necessarily typical of the world at large...like high schoolers.

Quit expecting things to be different and you won't be so outraged when they aren't. Besides, it facilitates independence and the competence to make things happen for yourself, even if it doesn't seem fair or easy.

I agree with this.
Although to be honest, what you've described is what pretty much every teen goes through at some point in their lives.
Sometimes people get stressed. You just have to find ways to handle it.

Thanks for the help guys. Anyway I feel a lot better now (albeit getting sick and having a sore throat now) Maybe I was just feeling worse with my brother because of my already had stress. I am very disappointed I failed my pre-ap chem test though, I was really hoping to do better. All that's left is to give my English speech on Monday and finish my Geography projects tomorrow!

1. Try talking to a friend. That's what friends are for.

2. Any family friends you can talk to? I don't know what it's like to be your situation, to be honest, but they can definitely help you out.
