Confused1 Eating Problem :/

All my life ive been an under eater, underweight all my life and in the last 4 months its really affecting me.
  • Dont feel hungary all day, so i could wake up at 7am and not eat till 8pm
  • Have an arguement so i tell myself im not eating
  • Constantly worry about what i eat, looking at sugar and fat content
  • Feel really chubby
  • If im really hungary i tell myself i dont need to eat or i dont deserve to eat
  • I feel being thin will make me more successful, so i aim to be underweight
  • when i get told my bmi is 15 and im underweight i feel better
Im currently on anti depressents and i have been told this is just a way i call for help. When i was little i was such a poor eater i had to go into hospital and be told i will need to be fed through a tube if i carry on. Its something ive grown up with and i guess its normal now. But my friends are now noticing about my eating and how i look at all the labels.
I also recieve counselling at the moment to. But it doesnt solve my eating, just my feelings.

Look you can have 1 chocolate bar or something but don't eat alot of it like 6 of them.
You just need to eat less chocolate and excercise more. If you don't feel hungry fair enough but if you do you can at least treat yourself with one chocolate bar one chocolate bar not gonna make you fat it's just less of chocolate. By the way don't go to mad on loosing weight don't want to end up being anorexia.

i agree that you should see a doctor. those do sound like symptoms of an eating disorder. the most important thing is that you are healthy. so make sure that you see a doctor and start eating right so that you can stay healthy.

A doctor is the best solution to see what's going on with your system.
Try a eat a little portion at a time.

I always exercise and I never eat any junk food. Not even 1 chocolate bar. Also my doctor is not very interested in me To be honest. I've seen 5different doctors over 1 month and none of them have helped me out :/ so now I just don't know what To do

Hi Amyy, I'm Samm. lol....

You need a specialist in eating disorders, a therapist that understands and has lots of experience with these matters. Eating Disorders are a lot different to treat than *other* problems. So, who ever is prescribing your meds (an MD) might be able to refer you to a therapist (talk doctor) to help you with both the eating issues and the feelings.

If this is a life long problem, it might take some time to address...and you're right these behaviors and feelings have now has become the new 'Normal' for you. But, 'Normal' as in typical, not healthy or good.

What you might do, esp. since you recognize that you've got some *issues* with eating that aren't so good, is to still eat small portions of healthy food 3x/day, regardless of your 'hunger'. Instead of responding to the hunger cue (which you've learned long a go to successfully ignore), you want to substitute the clock...so, when you get up in the AM, and at lunch time around noon, and then again at dinner time in the evening, you still sit down and eat small portions of good, healthy food.

You need to change your behaviors before you address the feelings...or maybe more accurately, by addressing the behaviors first, the feelings then follow.
