I just have to say I don't really beleive in adhd and add. I think that peoples minds just aren't all the same. I don't think it is something that you should be medicated for just because you don't think or concentrate the same way everyone else does. It just makes you unique not flawed as a disorder implys.

I was diagnosed ADHD too. But my mom proposed a diffirent approche AND IT WORKED!!!

See ADHD as symphtome. It's a way for your body and mind to tell you something. See it as a signal. In most case it is stuff that we don't really want to see. It is much easier to hide it for yourself. But your mind sees it and it kinda start the engine in order for you to feel it.

So You could see it from 2 perspectives:
1) Start a search deep inside to understand yourself and try to find what's this thing you're hiding. But be prepared this is a VERY LONG TRIP. But it is soooo rewarding when done correctly. FOR THIS GET HELP! You need a professional that will able you see thing from a different way.
2) Take a drug and ingnore the signal. This will be a temporary relief but be sure the signal will come back! Since it is much easier to stop at the diagnostic, most doctors prescribe drugs.

For myself the first point worked. BUT it took me 2 years to understand what was going on inside of me....
