hello, my name is michael, and im 14. i weight 224-230 lbs. and i have a hard time in school because of it. im tired of really even going about my daily life, i have no motivation and i just want to talk to someone that will give me motivation. my parents won't let me take pills or talk to a doctor about losing weight but i feel no reason to even exercise or go about my life. i don't do anything, i don't hang out with friends, and the only thing i ever even attend is french club.
Sorry to hear about how you feel. Oftentimes, when we're stuck with a situtation that seems helpless, we simply want to give up. However, for your sake, you mustn't. If you continue on this current course, you are risking your health, your relationships with friends and family, and your life. You need to maintain a sustainable weight. Frankly, you're parents are out of line by not letting you see a doctor- however, I agree with them on the pills bit. They don't work.
The only way to lose weight is to maintain a healthy diet and exercize 4-5 times per week. It doesn't even have to be strenuous- just something that gets you moving. Its hard, I know, I've been where you are. But you need to somehow get on your feet. Once you start looking better, you'll feel more confident and be more outgoing.
Losing weight takes time- it won't happen overnight. But you need to take the first step. The longest journey requires a first step.
I have lost 40 lbs. in the last 7 months, I just completly changed how I eat on a daily basis, I never exercized once, well more than what I usually did in daily activities. I am not reccomending this, because it is not the best way of going about this at all. BUT if execize is what is keeping you from trying to lose weight then just don't exercize and stop eating crap. I have not eaten a chip in 6 months, I suggest this method. I got fat on Dill Lays chips
Michael, like Roadless said, you are going to have to take that first step and help yourself before you expect anyone to try to help you. If you wait, the problem is just going to get worse and the problems associated with it will be amplified. The longer you sit there and do nothing, the harder it will be to lose weight.
Good luck lil dude!

"So, do I remind you of someone you never met, a lonely silhouette? And do I remind you of somewhere you wanna be, so far out of reach?"
Try to loose on weight by yourself. Don't eat as much as u used to do, do some exercises... maybe there is some fitness club around you? Try to talk honesty with your parents. Maybe they just don't understand well your problem?
Good luck

If I may Michael, the pills and the doctor (unless you are morbidly obese or unable to move without mechanical assistance). The only way to lose weight is to do what is the hardest for all people who are overweight is to put the fork down, and exercise. I used to be on the heavy ranging at about 149 lbs, at 5'8, 5'9. My summer before freshman year I finally saw my self and the mirror and I told m self don't wanna be this anymore.
Here is what I suggest as a good routine, oddly enough when I began working out my eating habits didn't really change that much, I still ate a-lot but I managed to balance that with a good workout. Here is what I did though, I called up my Father's personal trainer friend and he practically told me the best way to lose weight is to simply go for a swim. Swimming works out the entire body very well. So pretty much over the summer I began swimming, I started at 12 laps the first day, (I did 200 situps over the course of the day as well), the next day 24, 48, 96, 100, 106, 112, 120, 130, 140, and I stopped at 150. By the time I was able to swim 150 laps I had dropped about 20 pounds. After I reached that weight I began going to the gym, working out, and frankly I feel better about my self.
So here is my advice, put down the damn fork, and go for a swim.
I am sorry you are feeling like this. A lot of your tiredness and worthlessness issues clearly stem from your self esteem, which unfortunatly is connected to your weight. Finding motivation is hard, believe me I to struggle with this daily as I myself need to loose a few pounds, the thing is, once you get started and get going and see the pounds going thats where the motivation comes from. The hard part is finding the will power and motivation to start.
It is known that been over weight does contribute to tiredness, decreased energy etc,
You don't need a doctor or all those fad diets, you can try yourself, my advice is to start small and slow. Simply try just cutting back slightly on the junk food and maybe just hopping up and walking for 5mins to start with, then increase the time you walk as you begin to get more energised, continue to improve your diet and you will see a dramatic difference.
I am not a dietician so I can't give you exact advice on what foods should be cut (obviously besides all the junky stuff) but I know that reducing your bread intake is a nice start. Perhaps mention to your parents you are keen to loose some weight and would like to visit a dietician to make a meal plan, surely they can not be against that.

swimming is damn easy, i love it, but i can't do it because im embarrassed to show my "moobs" during the meets and i will only do swimming for the school if i won't have to attend the meets. other than that, i have no pool, the town pool should close soon and i have no way to get too a lake because they're all 50 miles away
