So I saw a lot of people (myself included) want to lose weight in 2012
I used to work in a gym when I was younger and studied health at university so I thought I would post what I think are/is the easiest and most effective tips I have tried and know of
So to start off, you need to look really hard at your diet
Lessening your calorie intake is the most important and effective way to lose weight (this is not to say to restrict your food intake in an unhealthy way but the average person can cut out 7000 calories per week out of their diet)
My current diet per day includes;
2x meal replacement shakes (the ones that still look after your nutrition!)
2-6 Healthy-mid healthy snacks
1x proper full meal (adult sized)
That seems to be working really well for me so far (my goal is to lose 5-10kg)
And this works out a lot cheaper than how I was eating before!
Of course you can always allow for chocolate and take-out but try to restrict that by half what the frequency you had before
The next most important thing you need to look at, believe it or not, is your stress levels
Make sure you are taking time out everyday for yourself and allowing yourself to de-stress from the stresses of the day
This can include listening to music, going for a walk or doing one of your other favourite activities
If you stress a lot and have a lot of toxins built up in your system, try to get a massage in your problem areas (mine are my shoulders) as often as you can (maybe ask your partner or even do it yourself)
Releasing these toxins wil help your body feel more relaxed and being happy is an important part of losing weight
The third most important thing is exercise
Try to do at least 20 minutes a day, whether it be going for a walk, doing some housework or getting on a bike!
I suggest at least 45 minutes to an hour per day for those seriously looking to lose weight above 10kg or more
It sounds really simple, and it is!
The only hard part is sticking at it so try keep a daily diary of food intake and exercise
Your motivation is this - you will look good and feel better!
Happy 2012 everyone
