Do what you want, if it's bothering you then get rid of it but don't just do it because of what other people are saying.

It won't grow back like that, but it will feel rougher if you don't shave for a few days. If you wait like a couple weeks to not shave, it will be back to normal.

My fiance has what I call a "fitted carpet" on his chest, which I just find so sexy and manly.

Keep it, when your childish, hairless friends see your manly chest filled with a thick layer of hair they will realize you are the manliest among them and accept you as their leader.

Or just shave it if you want.
