I had what I think is called a 'functional appliance'? I just clicked them onto my upper and lower teeth, and there were blocks over my teeth that fitted together in such a way that meant I had to keep my jaw forward. So it fixed my overbite.
I would have had normal braces, but a skate boarding accident when I was younger meant that it would have caused more problems to some of my teeth than fixed them.
To be honest, I'm glad I've got a better bite now (my Grandma tells me it's healthier, I should probably trust her since she's from the US, and dentals big there I hear), but if it wasn't for the NHS I probably wouldn't have had them. My teeth aren't perfectly straight,k but I don't mind, they have 'character'
Any one else have the braces I had? How'd you find them?
